For the second instalment in our series looking at our home city’s best venues, we look at a hotel we haven’t even worked at yet, the soon-to-open Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough City Centre.
The Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough City Centre is an eagerly anticipated new property set to open at the regenerated Fletton Quays complex this summer.
Situated just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, on the banks of the River Nene, the multi-million new hotel will consist of 160 bedrooms over nine storeys, with the LRV8 sky bar promising unparalleled panoramic views of the city and the stunning Peterborough Cathedral.
Situated next to Peterborough United’s current football ground, Fletton Quays will be the new home of the Passport Office and Peterborough City Council’s offices, as well as the hotel and conference centre and a range of residential flats.
In addition to the luxury bedrooms, the hotel is expected to provide a hub for business and family gatherings, with events and conference facilities designed to cater for between 85 and 200 delegates. The Hilton Garden Inn is expected to employ around 75 people and will be the city’s biggest hotel.
Construction has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the target opening date being delayed until the summer. Bookings are being taken from July 17, for what is a real landmark in the regeneration of the city.
Perfect casino party location…
We’re really looking forward to the opening of the venue, which is also well placed for the railway station and Ferry Meadows, and which will undoubtedly attract guests coming to the area for the annual Burghley Horse Trials. The riverside dining area, which sits opposite the Key Theatre, looks like a great spot for business meetings and, of course, those events spaces should be fantastic for hosting casino themed balls and company parties. All within a 10 minute walk of the Red Casino Events offices!
