Three Card Poker casino game layout

Looking for an additional game for your next casino party night. You could do a lot worse than book a Three Card Poker table.

At Red Casino Events, we love to offer you some of the more unusual casino games for your party night – offering your guests more variety and an even more authentic experience.

While almost every fun casino provider in the UK deals blackjack and roulette, our portfolio also includes a whole host of less well known, but still popular games, like punto banco, baccarat, money wheel, craps, Texas Hold ‘Em poker and this, Three Card Poker.

Three Card Poker is a relatively new casino table game, being developed in the 1990s and being introduced into UK casinos in 2002. As the name suggests, the game is based around making poker hands but, unlike traditional poker games, in Three Card Poker the player has to beat the casino dealer and not the other players at the table, even though the game typically accommodates up to seven players at a time.

To join the game, players must ‘ante up’ after which they will be dealt three cards face down.  After looking at their cards, players can fold (and forfeit their ante) or play (in which case they will need to match the ante bet. When all bets are made, the hands are compared and winnings paid out.

In order to ‘qualify’ the dealer must have a hand which is ‘queen high’ or better (that is, it contains at least an unpaired queen. If the dealer does not qualify, the ante bet for all players still in the hand is paid at odds of one to one, with no action on the play wager. If the dealer does play, the player loses both bets if they cannot beat the dealer’s hand, but wins at one to one on both bets if they hold the upper hand.

To create more action, and to help give a greater edge to the casino, some Three Card Poker tables offer side games like those found on many blackjack tables. These allow players to win bigger amounts based on the cards they are dealt (and are independent to what the dealer holds).

Unlike regular poker, there’s no element of bluffing involved with Three Card Poker. It makes an excellent floor game though, and like blackjack it can reward players who understand the mathematics of the game.

What casino games should I book for my party night?

Blackjack and roulette are the two classic casino games and are firm favourites at every casino party night, but if you’re hosting a larger party and want to add some extra tables – or you fancy adding a bit of variety for your guests – then Three Card Poker makes an excellent addition to a casino party night. It’s an increasingly popular game in British casinos these days, making it a perfect addition for those looking for an authentic modern casino experience, or for clients who want to learn the casino games in a fun and non threatening environment, without the risk of losing real money.

Do all fun casino party operators offer Three Card Poker?

No. While almost all fun casino companies can spread blackjack and roulette, Three Card Poker still remains a relatively rare option. If you fancy some Three Card Poker action at your next casino party, why not contact Red Casino Events who will be happy to provide a quotation for events throughout the United Kingdom.
