Fun casino parties are a great way to entertain your guests, but sometimes you can get it a bit wrong in your quest for perfection. At Red Fun Casinos we’ve almost a decade’s experience in putting on entertaining events, so we banged our heads together to come up with the 10 things we think our clients don’t always get right…

Booking for too long

Not many fun casino suppliers will tell you to make your booking shorter, but we’re a firm believer in quality over quantity.

Somewhere between two and three hours is optimal and booking for too long, or too late into the night, is a sure-fire way to risk the casino entertainment fizzling out. Keep it tight and the casino party can come to a thrilling conclusion, before your guests start to drift off home or get too inebriated. Aim for a 10-11pm finish at the latest, giving your guests a chance to hit the dancefloor or chat with friends before closing times.

Being too structured, strict or serious

We get this quite a lot and it is something which can vary from party-to-party.

Many guests want a very ‘pure’ gaming experience to find a winner on the night and while this can bring out a competitive element, we’ve also witnessed a number of parties where players go bust early on and are banished to the sidelines.

Most players go bust at a fun casino party, that’s just how it goes. We say don’t be too strict, let people play and a winner will always emerge.

Not being inclusive

Following on from this, inclusivity is one of the best things about a casino party. They appeal to guests of all ages and experience and bring them together on special occasions.

Making rules too onerous (one voucher and you’re out) or imposing restrictions can create the wrong environment (it’s fun after all) as can booking the wrong equipment. If you have guests who are wheelchair users, or who would prefer a seated casino experience, you should check if your casino party provider can accommodate this. At Red Fun Casinos we have a wide variety of tables to make our games accessible to as many players as possible.

Booking the wrong games

There are two classic casino games which should be part of every fun casino package, blackjack and roulette.

At Red Fun Casinos we offer a wider variety of games, but we always advise booking these with caution. All can be fantastic, however they usually lack the purity and simplicity of our core games.

Games like Three Card Poker and Punto Banco are loved by connoisseurs, but more difficult to grasp for the more casual player. Texas Hold ‘Em poker is also a very specialist game which requires players to commit to a long and intense session. Sometimes it is the right thing to do, but we’d always advise clients to err on the side of being cautious when it comes to booking additional games. Blackjack and roulette are by far and away the most popular games, which is why we stock multiple tables for each game – currently three roulette tables and seven blackjack tables.

Not booking the right number of tables

This is especially true for charity nights, where the casino table can play a major role in raising funds.

Too few tables will result in players who want to take part not being able to join in, while too many tables means money spent unnecessarily. This also often results in a flatter atmosphere than would otherwise be the case.

Judging how many tables you’ll need can be difficult and it’s not an exact science, however you can find some thoughts from us here.

Not having enough space

Casino tables are pretty big, so factor this in and appreciate that you’ll need more space to accommodate players around them. While most of our tables are full sized, we do have a number of smaller tables and solutions to create a casino party in smaller venues.

Not adding some wow factor

Casino parties are fun in themselves, but that’s not always enough.

At Red Fun Casinos we like to think that the quality of our equipment and the skills and style of our croupiers adds a certain wow to your event, while we’d always recommend adding in some props to create an ambience.

We’d recommend adding some mood lighting to your casino package, with props particularly relevant for Bond and Las Vegas themed parties.

Not setting guests’ expectations

Guests can often be confused by the appearance of casino tables at an event. They often think they need to pay to play, or that they need experience. Sometimes, when we’re hidden away, they don’t even know we’re part of the event!

If booking fun casino tables, tell your guests about it. Whether it’s in the invitation, or when they arrive, tell them where the casino is, the opening times, how they can get involved and if there’s a prize. Guests love casino nights, especially when they get the chance to learn the games, so this can be a real selling point for your event.

Not consulting with your supplier

All of the above can be minimised by created a good dialogue with your fun casino supplier and venue before the event. Tapping into their experience, understanding what they can offer and telling them what you want to achieve from the casino are the keys to getting maximum value from your booking. They want your event to be great too, so work together and create some magic!

Not booking a professional fun casino supplier

There are many fun casino companies around. Some are professional events companies, some are dedicated companies set up by ex-croupiers and some are side hustles by entrepreneurs looking to earn a little extra on the weekends.

We’ve seen good, and bad, examples of all three of these types of businesses but, generally, you get what you pay for. Check out a few suppliers, speaking on the phone where possible before deciding who to work with. Build a rapport and make sure they understand what you want to achieve from your casino entertainment. Ask about the quality of their equipment and their staff, and reassure yourself that they will be a good and reliable supplier for your event. The best companies will help you meet your goals and surpass them, the worst can let you down.
